Andrew Haagen is a Los Angeles–based portrait photographer whose work is defined by intimacy, portraying modern subjects through a classical portrait sensibility. He spent a formative decade in New York City (1993–2003), assisting iconic photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Irving Penn. Those years instilled a deep respect for craftsmanship and shaped an approach that balances formal rigor with an honest, human connection to the subject.

In 2004, Andrew established himself in Los Angeles, where he continues to create striking images for magazines, record labels, studios, and artists. His portraits feel both timeless and unmistakably of the moment.

For twenty years, Andrew served as the resident portrait photographer for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. His extensive archive traces the rise of new voices, the reinvention of established acts, and the festival’s evolution into a global cultural touchstone. With an ability to put subjects at ease, Andrew’s work stands as a lasting record of contemporary music and the people who shape it.
